Homeless Nursing Services

VNA public health nurses provide care to homeless individuals and families in transitional living facilities and crisis shelters in greater Omaha to ensure their access to health care, social services and community resources. VNA nurses address chronic health problems of homeless men, women and children and educate on the following:

• First aid
• Nutrition
• Hygiene
• Communicable diseases
• Substance abuse
• Mental health issues

In addition, the public health nurses make referrals to community resources and social service agencies.
