Cost, Coverage and Eligibility

Hospice care is a covered benefit under Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, many private health insurance companies and HMO's are beginning to cover hospice care as the benefits and cost-effectiveness of palliative care become more and more evident. Coverage generally includes team visitation, as well as medications, medical equipment and supplies related to the terminal condition.
