Community Health Services
Community Health Services

The VNA is known for its expertise in providing community health services for those living at home, as well as for those living in homeless shelters, transitional housing and correctional facilities. VNA staff members provide services to patients wherever they live, and the VNA reaches out to all individuals in the community regardless of age, race or financial status. The main focus of VNA's Community Health Services program is to foster dignity while increasing independence and self care.

Funding for these services include the United Way, private pay, contracts, local, state and federal grants, generous donors, family and corporate foundations, VNA fundraising events, Art & Soup and other contributions.

For more information about any of the VNA Community Health programs and services, please call (402) 342-5566, or email Betty Cernech, Vice President of Community Health, at bcernech@vnaomaha.org.

For Banking Institutions

Many VNA community health programs target low-income individuals and families, enabling your contribution to be eligible for CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) credit. For example, in 2006, of the more than 9,000 served in our nurse home visitation program for new mom's and babies, at least 70% * earned less than $10,000 a year. Please contact Carolyn Rooker, Community Relations/Grant Coordinator, at (402) 930-4018 or crooker@vnaomaha.org for more information if you need documentation for CRA reporting purposes.  ( * of those reporting income)
