Guidelines for Making a Bequest:

After meeting personal and family obligations in your will, consider making a gift to VNA home care, hospice or community health programs. Follow these steps for making a gift in your will:

  1. Contact your attorney about establishing or amending a will to include a bequest.
  2. Designate the Visiting Nurse Foundation as the recipient.
  3. Note whether the gift is unrestricted or marked for a specific VNA program or service area. For example, you may indicate that you want the bequest to be used for hospice care for the terminally ill. Unrestricted gifts will be used wherever needed most.
  4. Indicate the amount or percentage of the gift and list any specific property.

If you desire, notify the VNA of the bequest so the agency may recognize your generosity and plan accordingly.
